The current marketing campaign against front runner Apple is Smart Phone Beta Test – a series of behind the scene clips that are ment to show the weaknesses of the iPhone.
Fragile: “If you drop the phone, it might break.” I’m certain that this effects all phones, regardless of brand but I guess if you own the new Nokia Lumia 900, you can drop it as many times as you want.
Death-Grip: “Holding a phone a certain way effects signal strength.” This effected a tiny percentage of the user-base and is an issue concerning all phones.
Screen: “High resolution LCD screens gets washed-out in bright sunlight.” Is Noki-Soft is arguing that you should use an e-ink screen on modern smartphones?
The great tragedy here is two fold: 1) Nokia should have learned from Microsoft’s horrible marketing track record and gone with something new – 2) Negative marketing campaigns are rarely successful – you should concentrate on what your phone can do better or has, that your competition doesn’t. But hey, who am I to argue with the geniuses behind “Smoked by Windows Phone“………
