Somewhat of a diversion from the drive-in movie theaters that we’re all used to, a new film festival in Thailand commissioned the architect Ole Scheeren to build, what he would later refer to as the Archipelago Cinema. The structure is made from recycled material and was used for the Film On The Rocks film festival, which took place this year on the Thai island of Yao Noi.
The thought of watching films here seemed surprising“ said Ole Scheeren. “A screen, nestled somewhere between the rocks. And the audience… floating… hovering above the sea, somewhere in the middle of this incredible space of the lagoon, focused on the moving images across the water: A sense of temporality, randomness, almost like driftwood. Or maybe something more architectural: Modular pieces, loosely assembled, like a group of little islands that congregate to form an auditorium…

First of all it’s sim-less: it doesn’t use a simcard by our phone mobile operator. It can grab your data directly by the mobile network, also in 4G LTE. It uses a new audio section, with two panel speakers, on the rear of it aluminum forged unibody. All the controls are now on the top and the edge is so thin! The great news is the new iPhone haven’t just one retina display.
It has three ones! One strip screen is on the top, to show you all the network infos, clocks, notifications and so on. The bottom one is for App dock, multitasking panel and so on. The central one is only for the desktop: more space, more freedom…

Usually, supercar and environmentally friendly don’t go hand in hand but Porsche is out to prove that wrong – enter the 918 Spyder concept. Porsche’s R&D department isn’t resting on their laurels, they are fully embracing “electric” and while the 918 Spyder is called a “Concept” it is very much the direction Porsche is going in. Here are the stats: Inside the so called hybrid is a normally aspirated 3.4liter V8 that produces 495 Hp – add to that three electric motors that add an additional 215 Hp and you have the Spyder 918. While we don’t really know when or in what form Porsche will introduce this supercar to the world, we can take pleasure in the fact that major players are now embracing electric – which is good for us all.

Looks like fun right? CanDock’s floating dock system is perfect for water-sports (as seen above) and for someone that wants a temporary dock, possibly for seasonal work or boat rental.
The Candock modular floating docks system is a truly revolutionary product! The era of massive wooden, metal and cement docks is over. Our high quality plastic system is guaranteed for life; it’s environmentally friendly, and requires no maintenance. Easy to use and reliable, it provides unlimited configuration and application options. The Candock modular floating system has become a must for residential, commercial, marina and recreational facility docks or any other application.
While CanDock first started producing their modular dock system for replacement of existing wooden docks, people and companies quickly started using them for water-sport equipment. As you can see above, having the floating dock on a beach with waves is great fun.
This year’s titles for FOTB were created by Nando Costa through the use of macro motion pictures and materials with magnetic properties.
The choice of materials was driven by the desire to graphically represent the concepts of attraction and repulsion. The idea that graphic artists of all sorts attend events such as FOTB because they are inspired and therefore attracted to each other’s work, while at the same time often competing in the same fields as peers, which represents the repulsion factor.
