Usually, supercar and environmentally friendly don’t go hand in hand but Porsche is out to prove that wrong – enter the 918 Spyder concept. Porsche’s R&D department isn’t resting on their laurels, they are fully embracing “electric” and while the 918 Spyder is called a “Concept” it is very much the direction Porsche is going in. Here are the stats: Inside the so called hybrid is a normally aspirated 3.4liter V8 that produces 495 Hp – add to that three electric motors that add an additional 215 Hp and you have the Spyder 918. While we don’t really know when or in what form Porsche will introduce this supercar to the world, we can take pleasure in the fact that major players are now embracing electric – which is good for us all.
