How angry do you have to make Google or Microsoft – so that they join forces? Apparently, all you have to do or be is a relentless patent troll named GeoTag Inc! That’s right, the dynamic duo have teamed up against the Texas based trolling company, specifically to address patent number 5930474, which covers:
“…The geography database allows the user to browse through different geographic areas of which are ordered hierarchically, while the local content database includes information about general goods and services available within a given geographic. location and the yellow pages database includes information about specific goods and services in the geographic location…”

GeoTag Inc. has been prolific, suing 397 companies in the last 12 months, claiming countless patent infringement arguments – good luck. GooglSoft’s approach has been a three forked attack: One: To simple deny that they are using technology that infringes on the so called patent, Two: To prevent GeoTag from bringing suit against any Google or Microsoft customers and Three: Trying to break apart the foundation on the so called patent, thus making further cases brought forth by GeoTag Inc harder to prove.
