With all the recent news concerning Europe’s financial system, it’s easy to get “down” on the continent’s future but three guys from Brussels are making sure you don’t give up yet! Their “Hello Europe” project is based on the simple idea of communication – that is, communication between the many Euro-Zone/European countries. Their ambitious project is based on the simple concept of matching up people from different countries through large public monitors+cameras. In essential, you’ll be seeing a person/persons from randomly selected European cities and be able to interact with them. Just watch the video above.

GAPA/BS is the Baixada Santista’s AIDS Prevention Support Group. Baixada Santista is where the main port in Brazil and in Latin America is located, the Port of Santos. These are just the first steps of a really cool project to fight AIDS that we launched in Brazil. It is the BE PURE project. A nice project that put together more than 10 artist from all around the world like Gary Baseman, Alberto Cerriteño and Niark1, to bring back purity on everybody.

NASA has ben hit hard of late, both with budget cuts and what seems like a national dwindling desire to explore but the agency that taught us to dream isn’t taking all this negative press without a fight. With the help of super genius and un-elected but universally loved science spokesperson: Neil deGrasse Tyson – NASA has released “Pursuit of Light.” The Video marketing campaign emotionally explains what we’ve found, what still might be out there/down here and why we need NASA. A strong argument boys – you got my vote.

While the NokiSoft (Nokia+Microsoft) partnership has enabled Microsoft to build better hardware and Nokia has gained an OS that can at least play with the big boys – it looks like Nokia hasn’t learned from past Microsoft marketing failures. The current marketing campaign against front runner Apple is Smart Phone Beta Test – a series of behind the scene clips that are ment to show the weaknesses of the iPhone.

Fragile: “If you drop the phone, it might break.” I’m certain that this effects all phones, regardless of brand but I guess if you own the new Nokia Lumia 900, you can drop it as many times as you want.

We’ve all made fun of Android OEM’s and their ridiculous naming schemes but Matt Burns, over at TechCrunch, has put together a beautiful side by side. As it turns out, Android phone names don’t just sound crazy, they’re also indistinguishable from Condom marketing. That’s right – condoms. Could this have been the marketing play all along? We’ve all seen how super manly those Motorola commercials are – could they be marketing on a more subliminal, more sexual level? DELL computer has come a long way (down) from Michael Dell’s infamous 1997 Apple comment and just yesterday they announced that they’re no longer a “PC” company, moving product lines towards the enterprise. Good luck with that. All that said, if the below video “bares” any hint at their future and the decisions the company is making or the people working for Dell are making – I’d say: “Sell your remaining shares now!” All jokes aside, this video is actual Dell marketing material – found on their Vimeo page.

It seems like Samsung wants Australia to know that quite possibly the best reason to buy their Galaxy Tab 10.1 is because: “Apple tried to stop it.” That’s right, Sammy’s new ad campaign in Australia points directly to the fact that the two companies went to court over the sale of the Galaxy Tab in Australia, with the most recent court ruling allowing the “ipad doppelganger” Galaxy Tab to be sold in the land down under. Apple’s initial issue with Sammy’s tablet dealt with its exterior look – specifically its close resemblance to the ipad but after months in court, the eventual ruling sided with Samsung.

The Verge is reporting today, that Hp has or had hired Moving Bands to help re-brand its long standing public face but for whatever reason, they didn’t go along with what Moving Brands had in mind. While we don’t know specifics, it seems like HP didn’t want to take such a bold step forward, which is representative of why it’s fallen behind the rest of the industry. Check out the video below – it was part of the pitch to HP.

You know the drill – the Super Bowl is watched by those that love football and those that watch for the commercials. 106.5 Million people watched the game or watched the TV during the time the game was played – each 30 second spot cost about $3 million bucks, so you’d expect some good stuff. This years game wasn’t memorable in terms of commercials but there were some tech adverts that stood out – not because they were good but because they were un-imaginative.

Above you see the full Motorola Xoom Tablet commercial, one that was leaked before game day and one that many said – drew parallels to Apple’s mythical 1984 ad. Yea, there were obvious comparisons and Motorola did its best to make sure people understood that Apple had turned into the very thing it was fighting (IBM) back in 1984 but it didn’t work – not even close.

You see, Apple’s 1984 commercial worked partly because…..it was 1984 and there were essentially no consumer electronic companies (except Sony)  - Apple was fighting against Big Blue and their corporate dominance. It was the little guy against the giant corporation. Motorola is essentially making the same mistake Microsoft made with their WP7 commercials – they’re calling their desired customers sheep and stupid. I’m not a marketing expert but this technique is not going to work. Best Buy’s comercial is equally as un-imaginative and follows the classic: “Get celebrities, make them act stupid, try to be current, confuse!” Money well wasted! NEXT!!

Ok. So tech companies don’t make the best marketing decisions but Intel’s move today is both ridiculous and stupid. Will.I.AM from the Black Eyed Peas has been hired as, get his, “Director of Creative Innovation.” Yes, you heard that right – Director of blah blah. This matches Polaroid’s hiring of Lady Gaga in it’s ridiculousness but one might be able to make the case for Gaga (She is extreme.) Bottom line, everyone should buy AMD until they fire WILL.U.AINT!!
