
The axe has finally fallen on Co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, with them not only resigning from their “Co-CEO” positions but also getting axed from their “Co-Chairmen of the Board” positions. Research In Motion has fallen on hard times, especially over the last two years and it seems the pressure of RIM’s almost imminent implosion was the last straw but isn’t it too late? People and shareholders were calling for this move years ago but the co-founders, Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, would not move and as it looks now, their stubbornness will end up destroying the company. As if to make things worse, RIM has projected below street numbers for this quarter and the stock is being hammered even more.
