“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination…” Trailer after the break.
You like sci-fi? Do you dream of a future with no hope? Do you enjoy oversized plasma rifles or airships powered by small nuclear reactors? How about America in a dystopian, not so distant future? If you’ve answered yes to any of the above questions, Lock-Out is the flick for you. Staring Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace, the plot goes something like this – Watch the first 5 minutes after the break:
A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates…
We’re all waiting patiently (not really) for the release of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic Prometheus and while it’s still in post-production, Gavin Rothery was nice enough to post some behind the scenes pictures. No aliens were spotted but Charlize Theron looks good and Ridley Scott looks super concentrated on something – making them even more cool is the fact that they’re in black & white. Enjoy after the break…
So, Sony pictures has released the full length trailer to the Total Recall remake – still looks bad. We already talked about how we feel about Sony remaking this Sci-Fi classic but die-hard Hollywood supporters hold true that this new version might hold truer to the original book, thus making it better… For those not familiar with the storyline:
Douglas Quaid is haunted by a recurring dream about a journey to Mars. He hopes to find out more about this dream and buys a holiday at Rekall Inc. where they sell implanted memories. But something goes wrong with the memory implantation and he remembers being a secret agent fighting against the evil Mars administrator Cohaagen. Now the story really begins and it’s a rollercoaster ride until the massive end of the movie…
So there you have it. The remake comes out August 3rd but if you still aren’t convinced that Hollywood is taking less risks and simply making remakes because they’re safer bets - might want to check out this article.

We didn’t re-invent fire nor the wheel, so why would someone even consider re-inventing one of the best Sci-Fi movies of all time? Is it the money? Someone, please hand the people in charge of making this movie tons of cash – just don’t try to re-invent my childhood….it’s the only memory I really know to be real. I wish I had three hands, to slap the people responsible for making this movie!
This past saturday, the world lost a great artist and visionary. Jean Giraud (also known by his pseudonym Mœbius) past away in Paris, France at the age of 73. He left behind a level and amount of art work that is monumental as it is stunningly beautiful. Giraud’s work is a mixture of science fiction and emotional surrealism – his characters and their worlds, gleam with a humanism that never gets lost, even amidst the fantasy of his imagination. If you’ve never heard of Jean Giraud or Mœbius, that doesn’t mean you haven’t been touched by the pure beautify of his work, as he assisted on such films as Alien, Willow, Tron and The Fifth Element. While his philosophy and vision will be so very missed, we can only hope that the next generation of artists have at least, taken some time to view Giraud’s work…if only for a minute or two. Enjoy the video and small gallery below.
