Starting March 23rd, Virgin Mobile USA will start to throttle “Beyond Talk” plans for users that have downloaded more than 2.5GB worth of data. Once users cross that magical 2.5GB limit, they’ll see their download speed drop to 256Kpbs – so good luck with that. As this is a pay as you go plan, users can drop more cash on their account and they’ll see their speeds return to normal.

Joule unlimited……Wait, who? Yea, that’s right – Joule Unlimited, a Massachusetts biotech company is saying that they’ve invented a way to save our future energy needs. How does this future tech work, you ask:
“…Joule Unlimited has invented a genetically-engineered organism that it says simply secretes diesel fuel or ethanol wherever it finds sunlight, water and carbon dioxide…”
Oh, but that’s not all. Joule goes on to say that, not only can they produce these types of fuels, they can in almost unlimited amounts. All of a sudden, I’m imagining the ending scene from the movie “The Saint”…..and then reality hits. As it turns out, Joule is really good at talking and not so good at producing living world examples, such as: Mass produc- tion, efficient fuel collection and large scaling techniques but this is just the begining. Regardless, this is the kind of biotech that is going to reshape the energy sector and really give us hope for true energy independence.
